2022 LUCOSKY BROOKMAN FOUNDATION
LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Dear Friends,
It is with great pleasure and a sense of accomplishment that I introduce you to the Lucosky Brookman Foundation (the “LBF”). I have always held the belief that the best investment we can make is to assist the less fortunate and the disenfranchised, especially children. As Chairman of the LBF, I wish to share with you the various charitable initiatives that the LBF has undertaken in the past and those endeavors which we intend to continue in the future – each of which are designed to help the lives of those most in need.
Warren Buffet recently asked Bill and Melinda Gates a very important question that, coincidentally, I have been asking myself since the inception of the LBF – “Why is success in philanthropy measured differently from success in business or government?”
I have contemplated the answer to this question many times over, however, until recently I was never truly satisfied with the answer. I realized the answer to Warren Buffet’s question was very clear. Success in philanthropy and business can both be measured by numbers. The difference is what these numbers represent.
Businesses measure success by numbers which represent monetary value. However, at the LBF, we measure our success in philanthropy by the numbers of lives saved by The Save a Child’s Heart Foundation (one of the principal beneficiaries of the LBF), the hopeful smiles from those affected by Cystic Fibrosis through the LBF’s creation of the CF Bane campaign, and the number of feet warmed/protected by Knock Knock Give A Sock. The LBF is designed to raise money from generous donors and, in turn, donate money in support of multiple charities. Through the generous support of our donors, the number of lives the LBF will be able to impact will be innumerable.
The LBF dedicates the majority of its donations to organizations benefiting children. I have four children whom I love and adore. An investment in children is an investment in our future. The LBF is committed to making the world a better place for this generation and generations to come.
In addition to being the Chairman of the LBF, I am the Managing Partner of Lucosky Brookman LLP, a law firm based in New York and New Jersey. I enjoy the legal work, but what gets me up in the morning and keeps me motivated are the relationships that I have with my clients. It is through these relationships that the LBF has continued to grow.
Over the past five years, we have made significant strides in our charitable endeavors. With the help of our generous clients, friends and family, we have raised a tremendous amount of awareness and donations for many different organizations. Our donors give money with no tangible return or gain except for the joy and satisfaction of helping others.
As we continue our efforts through the Lucosky Brookman Foundation, we welcome all of you to join in our commitment to make an impact in our local communities and beyond.
Very sincerely yours,
Joseph M. Lucosky
